Uber Fires Over 20 Staff After Sexual Harrassment Report

Uber has fired more than 20 employees in conjunction with an internal investigation into its workplace culture, according to a current Uber employee.

As ReCode reports, Perkins Coie, the law firm that conducted this investigation, focused on individual claims of sexual harassment - separate from the long awaited report from former Attorney General Eric Holder and Covington and Burling partner Tammy Albaran. Covington and Burling investigated Uber’s overall workplace practices.

Perkins Coie investigated 215 claims of sexual harassment and didn’t proceed with 100 of them, according to Bloomberg.

The summary of the Holder report - which has been delivered to the company’s board - has been delayed until the firm’s recommendations are decided upon.

Those decisions could come late this week or next week.

This is the latest in a long string of PR disasters in recent months for CEO Travis Kalanick.
